What is this Privacy Policy for?

This privacy policy is for this website (the “Website”) and our on-demand telematics platform (“Skyline”), mobile applications and tools and services offered on the Site and mobile application (the “Service”) served by Viasat Connect LTD and governs the privacy of the users who choose to use it.

To provide the required level of service to you, we collect some of your personal information. This information may include your name, job title, company name, e-mail address, postal address and telephone number. Some information is collected automatically, for example any referring site, your browser and IP address. This information is used to create user profiles and to help us customise the site to meet your needs in the best possible way.

This policy sets out the different areas where user privacy is concerned and outlines the obligations and requirements of the users, the website and website owners.

Our Services and Site are not intended for children nor do we knowingly collect data relating to children.

We provide telematics, fleet management, and vehicle and asset tracking services and products (the “Service”). When we say “client”, “member”, “user” or “subscriber”, we are referring to the person, business or entity that is registered with us to use our services. When we say “you”, we are referring to a member or persons who use our services. “Personal information” shall mean any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

We supply services via our website, our on-demand telematics platform (“Skyline”) and mobile applications, this privacy policy applies to all instances of our services (referred to as “Website” and “Applications”). Furthermore, when we say “website visitor”, we are referring to a person who accesses our website via a computer, mobile device or other technology, manner or means. While providing our services, we may collect Personal Information about a website visitor, user and/or driver/operator, how and why this data is collected is described in further detail below.

The use of information collected through our service shall be limited to the purpose of providing the service for which Viasat’s client has engaged us.

Viasat provides telematics services to its clients via Skyline and its mobile applications, collecting and processing information under the direction of its clients. Viasat has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. Viasat will not review, share, distribute or reference any such data. Viasat may access this data only for the purposes of providing the services, preventing or addressing service or technical problems at a User’s request in connection with customer support matters, or as may be required by law. How We Share The Information We Collect

Viasat does not sell or otherwise disclose Personal Information about you, except as described in this Policy or as you explicitly consent to. Due to the nature of our business, we work with a variety of GDPR compliant businesses who act as data processors. These processors store and process your personal data on our instruction and on our behalf.

The types of service providers (processors) to whom we entrust Personal Information include service providers for: (i) provision of IT and related services; (ii) provision of information and services you have requested; (iii) payment processing; (iv) customer service activities; and (v) in connection with the provision of the Site.

Viasat has executed appropriate contracts with the service providers that prohibit them from using or sharing Personal Information except as necessary to perform the contracted services on our behalf or to comply with applicable legal requirements.

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of company assets, or transition of service to another provider, then your information may be sold or transferred as part of such a transaction as permitted by law and/or contract. In such event, Viasat will endeavour to direct the transferee to use Personal Information in a manner that is consistent with the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such Personal Information was collected.



Viasat Connect will contact you from time to time by telephone, post, email, or social media channels to keep you informed with news and updates to our range of product or services. We base our marketing communications on your preferences and if you have opted in.

We use Mailchimp as our ESP (Email Service Provider), by providing this service to us Mailchimp acts as a data processor. To view Mailchimp’s Privacy Policy, please click here. It should be noted that Mailchimp does not store its data within the EEA can this be written in full, the information is stored in the US. To comply with requirements of GDPR any transfer of personal data to a territory outside of the EEA must ensure an adequate level of protection. The US provides the Privacy Shield framework which is compliant with this requirement and Mailchimp participates in and is certified for the Privacy Shield framework.

Viasat Connect may contact you from time to time to ask you to take part in surveys. These surveys will be used to review, develop and improve our service. We use Survey Monkey as a host for our surveys. By providing Viasat Connect with this service Survey Monkey acts as a data processor, Viasat Connect will remain the data controller at all times. Marketing and Your Preferences:

We may contact you from time to time to keep you informed regarding news, products or services, this contact will be based on the information that you have given us when you registered, enquired or engaged with us. This may include other telematics or vehicle security products or other carefully selected offers or promotions that we feel may be of interest to you.

If you submit an enquiry via our website, we may be in contact with you regarding your enquiry by telephone or other means to discuss your enquiry.

At point of contact we provide you with the ability to choose your preferences regarding how you wish to be contacted, this is an opt-in format and relies on you providing consent for us to contact you. If you have given consent for us to contact you, you are able to withdraw your consent or edit your preferences at any point this can be done via the link at the bottom of each of our emails or by contacting

Viasat Connect adheres to the rights given to you under Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation, however, we reserve the right to hold base-data to ensure that your personal data will not be processed after you have withdrawn consent.


Changes to Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to edit this privacy policy at any time, the revised version will be posted on this website. The most recent version of the Privacy Policy is reflected by the version date located at the top of this privacy policy. You will be directed to any changes to the policy when you next visit our website.

From time to time, we may need to change the way we use your personal data. In cases, where we believe that you may not reasonably expect such a change we will write to you. When we do so, you will have 60 days in which to object to the change, your continued use of the Site or Service constitutes your agreement to be bound by such changes to the privacy policy. Your only remedy, if you do not accept the terms of this privacy policy, is to discontinue use of the Site and Service.

Your Rights as a Data Subject

Right to Access

Under article 15 of General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to request access to what data we hold about you. Under Recital 64, to ensure the safety of your personal data we hold the right to request verification of identity of any data subject that request access to personal data.

To request the data that we hold on you as a data subject, please write to our Data Protection Administrator at the address stated at the bottom of this section.

Please provide:

  1. Your name, company, business address and what information you would like
  2. Identification documents, one that shows your name and signature and one that shows that you are an employee of the named company

If you are requesting data on behalf of someone else (an employee) you will need to provide identification from these individuals as well as a signed letter of authority from them that they are happy for you to act on their behalf and for us to release their data to you.

We will comply with the request within one month of receipt of the request. Should we require an extension on this timeframe, we will write to you explaining why we need the additional time to complete your request.

Right to Rectification

Under Article 16 of the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to have data corrected. Should any personal data that we hold on you be incorrect, contact our Data Protection Administrator at the address stated at the bottom of this section, identifying which data that we hold is incorrect.

We will fulfil this request without undue delay, in cases where we are unable to correct or require additional time to complete the request we will write to you explaining the reasons why.

Right to be Forgotten

Under article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to be forgotten (erased). We will erase your personal data from our systems once the retention is no longer necessary for the performance of services based on a contractual requirement or if you withdraw consent for your personal data to be processed by us. If you wish to be forgotten, please contact our Data Protection Administrator using the details at the bottom of this section.

Right to Restriction of Processing

Under Article 18 of the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data. If you wish to restrict our processing of your personal data, please contact our Data Protection Administrator using the details at the bottom of this section. Please note, that this right can be reversed through written consent from you ‘the data subject’.

Right to Data Portability

Under Article 20 of the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to port your personal data from Viasat Connect to another data controller. We will adhere to this right where possible and where the data we hold does not negatively impact or infringe on the rights of a customer. If you wish to port your personal data, please contact our Data Protection Administrator using the details at the bottom of this section.

Right to Object

Under Articles 21 and 22 of the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to object to the use of your personal data. This includes the right to withdraw your consent to process your personal data if consent was previously given and the right to object to the use of your personal data for automated decision making, whereby we may use your data for profiling purposes to make a decision.
